Dear Fort Fam,
We are dedicating this Community Sunday to the youth of our church, specifically those who are graduating and moving on to the next phase of their education and their lives. They are coming of age in a time when questions of racial justice, economic inequality, climate change, and human rights are shaping communities across the globe. They will inherit the responsibility—and the opportunity—to help create a more just and compassionate society.
As a congregation, we can remind our young people that they do not face these challenges alone. We can share the wisdom we have gained through our own experiences. We can encourage them to lead with courage, to speak up for those whose voices are often ignored, to build bridges across differences, and to never lose sight of their own worth and dignity.
This week, we invite every member of the congregation to offer a piece of advice, encouragement, or hope for our graduates. What would you want the next generation to know? What values have sustained you?
Please respond by email with your messages for our graduates this week. We will collect them and share them during next Sunday's service.
